For the first time I saw Chris Rocks documentary about black women, their hair, and the hair weave industry titled "GOOD HAIR". In it, Rock explores what the psyche of black women is today when it comes to their hair, and he also explores just how profitable the hair weave industry is. I couldn't help but watch in awe as some of Hollywood leading ladies and entertainers like Nia Long, Eve and more sat in the interview seat and talked. It dawned on me just how important a black womans hair really is to them. When you think about it, there is NOTHING on their body that gets more attention, spent more time grooming, and more money on maintaining. Then there is the fact that MOST of them DO NOT even wear their natural hair. No, MOST of them wear hair weave. And hair weave is expensive....very expensive!
