Children: the most important thing a person has. More important than your mate, money, career, hobby, car, and even yourself. But the thing about offspring is they are not simple objects we posses. They are complicated, imperfect beings with a wide range of issues, just like the people that made them! How do you deal with it all? What do you do about discipline? How do yo deal with bad ass kids? Spare the rod spoil the child I say. In this crazy world we can't be with them 24/7 so we teach them to survive best we can. Sadly you can't address the subject of children in the black community without addressing the SINGLE parent since most of our kids don't have both parents in the home. Tough job, how do you maintain? What do you do when the little innocent child hits junior high and gets bombarded with the social pressures of sex and drugs? Do you tell them to abstain, or tell them to protect themselves?
