Since the early 1970s, he has led his band, originally known as Juju and today as Oneness, through some 30 albums and hundreds of performances throughout the world. He has been on bills with stars like Patti LaBelle, Ray Charles, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Frankie Beverly and Maze, served as a studio musician for The Cosby Show, and has appeared on several avant-garde jazz albums.
