He is best known for replacing Luther Vandross as lead vocalist for the popular disco-soul-funk group Change, recording three albums with them from 1981-1983. Prior to that he worked with Norman Connors and Lonnie Liston Smith, and later on he recorded with Lenny White, Jeff Lorber and Will Downing, among others. He also released a solo album, called Guilty, in 1987.
