Inflammation is a major player in system dysfunction. So how do you know if you are inflamed? You might feel it as soreness or edginess, but having objective data is a clear way to verify and validate how you feel. Figuring It Out With the advent of electronic medical records, access to your results has never been easier. The two tests I want you to look for in your records: CBC with differential ESR 0r CRP (hs-CRP) This may seem a bit scientific and tedius, but bear with me as I'll explain it in simple terms and I go over it on the podcast (click above to listen). I also covered this on the Periscope broadcast (Tuesdays 12 noon CST). CBC with Differential CBC = complete blood count This test measures things like white blood cells (WBC), hemoglobin and platelets (sticky things that keep you from bleeding). The differential is a breakdown of the different types of white blood cells. These have various functions, but that's not key to know right now. Look for the following: Monocytes Eosinophil
