Tribute to Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers

Informações:

Sinopsis

Born in Harlem, New York on Nov. 1 1938, Henry Lee Brown (better known as Pucho) was inspired at a young age by classic recordings from el rey, Tito Puente and countless others from the golden age of the mambo in New York City. Pucho and his Latin Soul Brothers were on the cutting edge of mixing Afro-Latin rhythms with Jazz, Soul, and R&B all throughout the swingin' 60s. In fact, Latin Jazz legends like Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo used to raid Pucho's band on a regular basis to find cats who could give them that hip Harlem sound and still stay in clave. In this special podcast tribute, we rediscover many of the rare gems and classic recordings that, 50 years later, still sound fresh as ever! -- Lend an ear and Listen Here...
