At the top of the hour Deborah Cox discusses "Wife Material - Misbehavior to Freedom", a novel based on her own childnood in the Church of Christ.  We'll discuss the lives of women, how feminity was approached or achnowledged within the Church, how patriarchy affected women's lives and how the doctrine affected her personally.  Deborah will talk about "acts of disobedience" as those of personal developoment for women struggling under the yoke of patriarchy and she'll give us an inside look at what it's like to be a woman who escaped the sect of the Church of Christ through refusal to obey and conform.  Deborah is a psychologist, writer and artist who treats trauma survivors, particularly those who have experienced religious abuse. We'll be sure to discuss how fundamental religion creates this idealized form of women that excludes sex while getting girls dressed and made up like beauty pageant contestants, putting pressure on girls to be "good and worthy" without ever asking what they really want.  Obviously t
