In this episode my interview with Professor of American History, Beryl Satter helps if you've ever had this thought: I know racism and making money explain black urban poverty but I don't really know how it happened. In addition to being an expert on historical and current draining of black wealth in American cities, Beryl more recently co-founded the Queer Newark Oral History Project and continues to teach at Rutgers University. Finally, the Same Rock Podcast just doubled in size because Justin Anderson, a student at Columbia College Chicago studying photojournalism, has joined me and will be an ongoing Contributor.
