Architect Tom Kundig gave a talk in Santa Rosa a few years ago when I was acting as an architect on a design-build project. He advised me to embrace the problems of a project. He said that the best designs hit challenges that drive them to be great. I use this idea as fuel in everything I create. What is your proudest career accomplishment and why? With no restaurant experience, I created a successful and profitable restaurant concept. I wrote a menu, bought wine, created all marketing, waited tables, tended bar, covered the chefs days off and created a profitable biz right outa the gate.
