With many commissioned portraits and murals under his belt, Roosevelt “BlackRose” Taylor is a skilled and successful artist with full command of his craft. Born, raised and proud to be living in Harlem, BlackRose realized he could draw at the age of nine. Honing his craft ever since, he continues to grow and evolve as an artist. His talents include many styles and techniques: murals, portraits, logo design, fashion illustration, trompe l’oeil, etc. BlackRose is clearly a member of the “new” Harlem Renaissance, making an important contribution to the renewed cultural richness of contemporary Harlem. Popular and historical landmark eateries and businesses have commissioned him to create artwork for their establishments. These include Minton’s Jazz Lounge, The Cecil Steak House, Gin Fizz Jazz Lounge, Big Russ Barber Shop, Harlem Bar-B-Q, Nabe Harlem, Cove Lounge, and others.
