The Metallica community was saddened to hear Sunday evening that Ray Burton has passed away. As many of you know, Ray was the father of the late, great Cliff Burton, one of the most beloved and influential musicians in recent history. Since Cliff's passing in 1986, Ray Burton has been a spiritual fixture in the Metallica family. Supportive through the transitions of the two successors of Cliff's position in Metallica, Ray was often seen at shows meeting fans and cheering the band on. For our 100th episode, Ray was kind enough to grant us an interview, sharing with us details about Cliff as a child, the ascension of Metallica, Cliff's death and preserving his legacy through the years.
