We all go through tough times. But why is it so hard for many of us to ask for help during these times? Asking for help is the cornerstone of sobriety, though, it’s one of the biggest barriers that prevent us from getting sober and living out our true potential.  Asking for help requires us to be vulnerable and in doing so we ultimately put ourselves at risk for disappointment, rejection, and it can cause us to feel weak or vulnerable. Others may lack the social skills to ask for help, and some don’t know where to turn.  Though, when we begin to ask ourselves where this fear of becoming vulnerable stems from, most of us can return back to a place in childhood.  In this week’s SHAIR Recovery Coaching call, the group helped Pauly. Making significant career changes in his life, he finds himself struggling to ask for help.
