Life-Cycle Series Episode Seven - Garment Use Buy smarter, not cheaper! The three main points from today: buy durability; buy bio-degradable; and lastly, buy timelessness. Our worldly crisis of global warming and pollution is out of control with many industries (and people) contributing to this while we do nothing about it. I love the textile industry but it is the second largest polluter in the world right next to oil. We ignore this (even myself) and we produce or we buy our clothes from fast fashion industries because is cheap, it’s fast and the feeling of purchasing something releases endorphins that make us so happy! So we do it again and again and again until there will be nothing left. I am making this podcast series so that you as a designer, consumer or entrepreneur in the textile industry can get all the do’s and don'ts so that you are wearing the label of “Completely Sustainable” in your thoughts, wardrobe or store.
