Art and mathematics, fractal geometry, perspective, chaos theory. Dr. Annalisa Crannell's primary research lies in an area called Topological Dynamical Systems, which is closely related to Chaos Theory. Currently Dr. Crannell is working on a book on Mathematics and Art, Viewpoints -- Mathematical Perspective and Fractal Geometry in Art which is funded by the National Science Foundation. In addition, Dr. Crannell runs a summer workshop, VIEWPOINTS, for mathematicians and artists.
