Marla Clayman Senior Researcher Dr. Clayman is a health services and health communication researcher with over a decade of experience in designing and carrying out studies related to patient engagement and healthcare decision making. Dr. Clayman uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to answer research questions about how patients and healthcare providers do and don't communicate with one another—and then intervening to facilitate meaningful communication and decision making. Dr. Clayman is widely recognized for her work, and currently serves as Chair of the Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section of the American Public Health Association. She has served as the principal investigator on projects funded by the National Institutes of Health and the American Cancer Society. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and recently co-edited a book on Oncofertility Communication.
