The National Library Service for the Blind Print Disabled is a part of the Library of Congress that provides materials for NLS "for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical disability that prevents reading or holding the printed page. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS offers books the way you want them: in braille or audio formats, mailed to your door for free, or instantly downloadable. NLS works to ensure that all may read by providing eligible patrons access to NLS materials regardless of age, economic circumstances, or technical expertise." Giannarelli has narrated many books that are available as part of their service for people with eye sight problems. Of most interest is her reading both the "Little House" books and Pioneer Girl. Join me as we learn about this important system, how Giannarelli got interested in Laura, and how she went about this entire project.

Wilder Days is a big Laura event that includes special speakers, music, a crafts show, a pageant showing, etc. The Wilder dinner is a newer event and includes a special guest speaker who is then available for signing. This year the special guest was Alison Arngrim aka Nellie Oleson on "The Little House on the Prairie" NBC TV show. Another fairly recent additional to the program is a fiddle festival that is quickly developing a regional reputation for a high quality event.
