Dale & Keefe are joined by leukemia patient Dominic Deluca, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in July of 2016. Dominic went through four rounds of chemotherapy, three types of targeted gene therapy, and a bone marrow transplant before going into remission. Unfortunately, Dominic recently relapsed. Dominic details his diagnosis and speaks very poisitively about his life with cancer. Dr. Richard Stone details how often relapses occur among patients with AML, and the progress made in leukemia research. 

Stephanie Wills tells the story of her 2-year-old son Mason Wills, his love of trucks, his diagnosis of leukemia after he showed pain while walking, and how lucky they feel that Mason can be treated thanks to donations to Dana-Farber through non-profits like the Jimmy Fund.

Author of “The Adventures of Fenway and Hooper at Fenway Park,” Brian Kalfass, speaks about his sons treatment at Dana-Farber and his efforts to help fundraise for the foundation through sales of the book.

Liz Page talks to Dale and Keefe about her rapid treatment for lung cancer at Dana-Farber. Thoracic oncologist Dr. Geoff Oxnard, Liz's doctor, explains the new ways to diagnose and treatment of lung cancer.

20-year-old sarcoma cancer patient Caroline Grape tells the story of how her rare cancer diagnosis interuped her life in college and her Dr. Katherine Thornton explains the way Dana-Farber came up with a unique and personalized treatment to deal with her disease.

Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask and former Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton join the Greg Hill Show for day one of the Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon. Rask speaks about the devastation of the Bruins Stanley Cup loss to St. Louis and preparations for next season. Shawn Thornton calls in to share his experience with the Jimmy Fund and rank his best NHL moment and fight.

Dr. Barrett Rollins, the chief scientific medical officer at Dana-Farber, joins the Greg Hill Show speaks to the importance of basic cancer research and its role in the development of clinical advances.  Dr. Rollins also describes managing the scientific, technologic, and research operations of the Dana-Farber institute.

Currivan Alouidor joins the Greg Hill Show to discuss being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, the most common type of cancer that starts in the bones.  Currivan walks us through his diagnosis and the treatment that included chemotherapy and surgery to remove his leg.  Dana-Farber helped make what could have been a horrible time for Currivan and made it as memorable as they could.  Currivan looks back on his time at Dana-Farber and knows the the smiles outweighed the frowns.

Tom Brady joins the Greg Hill Show to endorse the Jimmy Fund for day one of this year’s radio telethon. Brady speaks about his relationship with Mike Vrabel, the reason behind his pizza eating this week, the importance of getting back wide receiver Josh Gordon, and the release of kicker Ryan Allen. Pediatric oncologist Dr. Brian Crompton joins the Greg Hill Show to speak about his work treating the patients at Dana-Farber and the Red Sox role with patients and partnership with the institution.

Dana-Farber nurse practitioners Courtney Shea and Sara Shobin join the Greg Hill Show to talk about what inspired them to work with cancer patients and how the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber helps uplift the spirits of the children going through treatment.

Hour 2: Keefe now believes the Bruins won’t make the playoffs and the team is falling apart this season. And youth football players potentially not going to be allowed to play tackle football until high school and Keefe thinks coaches know how to teach tackling better now to make it safer.

Mut and Joe are joined by Dr. Matthew Davids the Associate Director for the Center for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia After obtaining an A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard College, Dr. Davids completed his M.D. at Yale University School of Medicine. He served as an intern, resident, and assistant chief resident in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. Once he completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology in Dana-Farber/ Partners CancerCare, and a Masters in Medical Science (MMSc) at Harvard Medical School he became the attending physician in the Lymphoma Program of the Division of Metalogic Malignancies and Dana-Farber, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is the Associate Director of the Dana-Farber CLL Center.

Stephen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last April after experiencing abdominal discomfort following a trip to Florida. He came to Dana-Farber for his treatment, which included a whipple surgery, in which part of his pancreas was removed, followed by 16 weeks of chemotherapy. Stephen considers himself incredibly lucky that his disease was caught relatively early. The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is only 7%. When pancreatic cancer is detected early, the survival percentages increase dramatically.  Stephen also can’t say enough about his care team at Dana-Farber which included his surgeon, Dr. Clancy, his nurse, Kathleen Boyle, and his oncologist, Dr. Nadine McCleary.   Sadly, this was not the first experience with cancer for Stephen and his family. He lost his daughter to leukemia in the 1970s. At that time, the survival rate for childhood leukemia was about 20%. Today it is over 80% thanks to advances in science and investments in research. Stephen lives with his wife of 53 years in Marb
