In my judgment, few words are as misused as the word “blessing” in the body of Christ. Often when you hear Christians talking about a ”blessing” they are referring to something like a promotion at work, a new car, or getting their mortgage approved, but that is incorrect. The things that you receive are the fruit, but the root is really what the Bible refers to as the blessing. In short, the blessing is a supernatural enablement to get results. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. In verse 14, the term "drawn away" implies that people can be in one place, and now they find themselves in another. It can be spiritual, emotional, or financially speaking. Distraction leads to deception; deception leads to dislocation; dislocation leads to destruction…. So the challenge is to be ruthless with distraction. It is critical that we learn to eliminate these distractions because James makes it clear that satan’s ultimate agenda is to use distraction to kill us. In this verse, death does not necessarily

Now think about it for a moment, for many individuals that "other" person is their spouse. We are connected to people in three different ways: 1. Blood (family members) 2. Love (dating or marriage) 3. Money (career). Finding yourself in those difficult relationships can cause disconnection, diminishing love, and powerlessness. Feeling frustrated in relationships can be a good thing. It may demonstrate that you are compassionate, that you want the best for other people, and that you are very loving, and you have good intentions. 3 John 2 says: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” In my judgment, this is one of the most impactful, yet most misunderstood passages in the Bible. This verse makes it clear that there is a direct relationship between how you prosper as a person and how your soul is prospering. In this teaching, we will examine the components of the soul: the mind; will; emotions; intellect; reasoning; memories; affection; and imagination, and look at how you are using each of these respective components to prosper in your life.
