213: The Summer that Almost Wasn't
21/08/2019 Duración: 19minLoss can be one of our greatest teachers. This summer wasn't supposed to be the way it was because last December, I sat next to my mom in a hospital room and took notes as she planned her funeral. None of us expected her to make it to the new year. But she did, and the summer that almost wasn't became the summer that was. _ During my break this year here at the lake, I've made time to reflect about the power loss can have on our lives, how we can use it for accelerated growth, and how gratitude and grief can exist side by side in our hearts. Life is always pushing forward. It's up to each of us to decide if we will be a part of it or not. I recorded this bonus episode while paddling my kayak on the last day of my vacation this year. Enjoy. = = = = = LIMITED TIME! Are you a fabulous woman of influence (or have one in your life)? Consider joining me in October for the Confluence Leadership Retreat in the Pacific Northwest! 207: BONUS AUDIBLE on London, Lagerfeld & Leadership
29/05/2019 Duración: 25minYou have to be living under a rock not to notice the massive changes going on around us every day. Cranes are silhouetted against city skylines; technology roars forward. From the political and economic struggles surrounding Brexit to the opportunities the digital revolution is offering us to transform our lives, the world is in flux on a much bigger scale than in previous decades. As more of us choose to deepen our leadership practices as business owners, creatives, parents, and active global citizens, I believe we need to consider adopting the attitude around change and evolution that the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld had. I recently watched a documentary about him called “Lagerfeld Confidential” (French with English subtitles) which taught me a lot about a man I knew nothing about, to be completely honest. He epitomizes the spirit of PYP and stood for stayin
