The modern center may not be quite at the level of the position’s glory years, when the likes of Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning and Shaquille O’Neal battled it out on a nightly basis, but it’s certainly nowhere near as weak as some would lead you to believe, either.
