There are really only two types of prayers: answered and unanswered. Even if it’s really an answer of wait, it feels unanswered. Do you ever get caught up equating God’s love and existence merely in the answer to your prayer? Why do we do this? This week we dug into some of our friends in the Bible to see that God gave us more than ample examples of answered and unanswered prayers with stories we can relate to. Take the time to dig in and read about these stories…these people…our brothers and sisters in Christ who went before us and were written about so that we might glean and grow from their lives. There’s a time to be strong and courageous and move on. But FIRST, it is absolutely biblical to stop and give space for your pain…frustration…anger…fear…sadness. There’s a time to speak out in faith and proclaim truth regardless of how you feel…but that comes after you’ve emptied yourself of the desperation first. It has be released and let go TO GOD so that He can fill those empty places with faith, peace, love, hope and yes…even joy. In this week's episode, we explore the importance of biblical lament, and learn how biblical lament never loses sight of God. It’s always a prayer to God. The character of lament for us is different. Sometimes as women, we don't ask God to provide because we feel it's selfish to do so; we feel selfish for asking God to give us anything, whether it be healing, restoration, finances, whathaveyou. But Provision isn't just something God does...it's His name. Abraham called God Jehovah Jirah, One Who Sees and One Who Provides. And there are over 169 verses in the Bible specifically about God's provision! After living in Hawaii for over ten years, and traveling the world falling in love with the nations, Kezia McNab has finally settled in Colorado with her husband Ashton, and is expecting a little boy this summer! After spending much of her twenties in missions, and a season of not being able to go back overseas, she has slowly learned to have joy and contentment serving God in whatever circumstance He puts her in. She now devotes herself to working for Shining Light International and invests in the people of Pakistan every day from right here in the US. She is so thankful to still be involved in what God is doing to bless the Pakistani people, and loves that He allows her to be a part of what He is doing no matter where she is.
