Running from the EMPIRE and the strange, force-weilding foe that killed Quinth’s contact, the crew make their way out towards Hutt-space, hoping to find refuge and maybe another of Spynet’s contacts so they could offload their dangerous data. Having captured the weapons researcher DOCTOR ZELDRIN and discovered that the EMPIRE was holding him to research a new superweapon, the crew have to escape a base on alert, while destroying all the research stored on site. Deep underground, the crew traverses the caves where once the JEDI brought their padawans in search of crystals. However, now they only encounter ghostly images left behind - echoes in THE FORCE. Having survived both their encounter with Quinth’s ex and the chemical attack of Tazi’s painting job for Zhaan, the crew take to the air to try and track down their elusive prey. Having safely arrived back on CORUSCANT, the crew split up to take care of some tasks. Tazi and Quinth set off to recover the KRALLET’S FANG from storage and discuss their future, while A-1, D4 and Zhaan lounge in the Firespray. Finally ferreting out the details of both MASTER TOVAR’s goals, as well as her dynamic with Zhaan, the crew finally set off back towards home. With the simulator battle behind them, the crew finally are admitted to MASTER TOVAR’s inner circle, and briefed on what the job entails. Obstacle courses, trapped rooms, poison and a social gathering have all been tests of various kinds - tests the crew so far has managed to weather. MASTER TOVAR seems to know more about Zhaan than the crew does, so is she more than she seems? After finding their way into the company of several different mercenary companies, the crew have battled through a deadly obstacle course and finally have some time to catch their breath. Having infiltrated MASTER TOVAR’s compound, the crew find themselves embroiled in a series of competitions. With their new aliases firmly settled, if not easily remembered, the crew has their first encounters with the other mercenaries who are vying for spots in the mercenary company. The crew has decided to hire their new acquaintances - Quinth and Zhaan - to ferry them to the Outer Rim planet of Zygerria on a covert mission for the Jedi Order.
