I was sick last week - apologies for the missed episode. But I'm back! And it's time to review Dad of War (No Spoilers). Plus we talk E3, Xbone and game sales to date, and some stories from the heart of LA.   It's good to be back!

Matt and I haven't finished God of War yet, so we'll be doing a full episode on it later - but for now we get into what games/franchises we wish would get a style shift like God of War.   Take a listen and as always Shine on doods!

E3 draws ever closer and it begs the question... Is it even a good time to announce your game? What if you aren't a first party? Personally I think 6 months is a good timeline - but Makes a few good points about why it can spell disaster for a game. Enjoy and Shine on doods!   Correction: In the episode we say Wii Sports sold 50(ish) million copies compared to GTA 5's 90(ish) Million. In actuality - Wii Sports sold 80+ Million copies.

Today's topics were suggested by NYCrownlessKing on twitter. So, shout-out to the (occasional) gentleman from the east! We get into it about the somewhat surprising news that Shadow of War is removing its microtransactions several months after its release, and other news. Plus we get into some E3 talk (because, duh).   Shine on doods!

Sea of Thieves is finally out! How long have I been talking about this damn game? Well it's out and I played it and I dig it pretty hard but it has also caused me some confusion. We'll get into that and more because SoT does something that is somewhat new for online games - Lateral progression. Haven't heard of it? It means there is no leveling and only cosmetic rewards. You'll always be on an even playing field - a year in or starting fresh.

This isn't an episode about dumping on things - This is an episode about admitting we don't understand the appeal of certain games or genres, and inviting someone to tell us what they love about something. Except Labo. That thing is insanity and I refuse to give it a chance. Ever. :P Shine on doods!

The announcement that surprises no one, and yet has somehow stirred up a hornets nest is finally here. Smash is coming to Switch! There's debate on whether or not it is a new entry into the series, or if it is a port. We get into that, plus some new character predictions, a couple wish list new characters, and wish list ports plus some E3 predictions. Lube up and join in - SHINE ON DOODS!

This episode we talk about how multiplayer became the big selling point because of last generation, but now - could multiplayer be on the wane as a selling point for a game? Unless of course it's entirely multiplayer, but even then, are we at a point where arena shooters and co-op dungeon crawlers will be retired for a while? Hey doods, sorry for the delay. It's been one of those weeks (car died, working late etc etc etc) but today we're talking about the big news - Atari. That's right. Atari circa 1976 was a wild place and today we delve into that, and round things off with our favorite relationships in games!

Hey doods, welcome back! This week's big news is MVCI getting the snub from EVO's final stage. Not exactly a slap in the face to capcom, but possibly a death knell for the game and possibly mvc as a series for a bit. Maybe not the most surprising but it is devastating for the doods that love the game. This is another remote episode because I got out of work very late and there was no other choice. I miss the normal equipment as well, but we are working on getting Matt a better audio set up for his stream, which will have the side benefit of a much better sound when we have to record remotely.   Shine on doods!

This week on the YoVG podcast - rumors afloat of Microsoft buying EA, plus confirmation that Gamepass will now include Xbox first party titles on release day. Is this the future of gaming or a terrible idea!?

We're still slogging through the slow news month, but there is some cool stuff on the horizon. Dad of War on 4/20 (ha), Fable 4 rumors (all but for sure), and Matt's hands on time with the Nintendo Playstation at Retro Con in LA. Plus we get into what our "price" is. Jump in doods and shine on!
