In our gatherings this weekend, we took time before jumping back into the Sermon on the Mount to reflect on and respond to the last few weeks. Sometimes we can feel alone in whatever we're going through, whether it's the deep pain of life not being what we thought it would be or experiencing a season of great joy in the midst of everyone else's chaos. We hope that this liturgy serves as a reminder to everyone in our community that "you are not alone". Jason Miller - In September, we began a process of communal discernment and feedback as we prepare for the end of our current lease at Studebaker 112 and consider some new possibilities for where we'll call home. Our lead pastor, Jason, took some time in this week's gatherings to report back to the community the feedback we've heard, and to let you know where things stand.

Jason Miller - Jesus warns against lust and divorce. Are these matters of purity, or is something deeper going on?

Jason Miller - As Jesus begins to give us pictures of the life of God in the sermon on the mount, he takes the prohibition against murder and stretches it to include a condemnation of anger. Why does he do that? Is this just a heavy burden, or a new possibility?

Jason Miller - Right after telling people that the kingdom of God is theirs, regardless of any aspect of their circumstance, Jesus speaks of being salt and light. What could these images mean for us, and what purpose do they serve?

Jason Miller - This week we opened up an important conversation about the place SBCC calls home. We moved into Studebaker 112 in 2017 as renters, and while we have loved our home and flourished here, we've also begun evaluating the wisdom of renting versus owning. In this episode, you'll hear us talk about those questions and share a possibility that we've been exploring that would allow us to own a building. As you listen, you'll notice that we shared some visual resources during the gathering to help illustrate the possibilites we're considering.
