Sometimes on the open road we find what we need, not necessarily what we want. We close our How To Wander series at the Communion Table, a meal of belonging, and ask: how do we become a community of radical belonging-- a kind of belonging nomads and wanderers share with one another?

A look at two characters from Scripture who wandered far from home. One was called out. One was kicked out. And both have something to teach us about the power of what can happen when we wander.

We began a new conversation this week about the inevitable experience of leaving home and wandering. Home may be geographic or theological. It may be your family of origin or your spiritual community. Sometimes we're called out. Sometimes we're kicked out. But wandering isn't all bad, and we're looking at the way the Bible narrates that journey.

For our final week in Colossians, our pastor, Jason, was joined by Jessica Hughes for a conversation about the household code in chapter 3. What do you do with a text that calls for wives to submit to their husbands when we know that so many women are abused? What do you do with a text that calls for slaves to obey their masters? And how do these teachings relate to the big, hopeful idea of Colossians - that God has chosen to live God's life in flesh and blood?

In week 5 of our Lenten series, we looked at anger and asked if anger, which is so often a bad thing, might sometimes be a sign that we're waking up.   We also reflected on these questions: ARE YOU CARRYING ANY ANGER RIGHT NOW? IS IT COMING FROM IMMATURITY OR AN OFFENDED EGO? BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ANGER THAT’S NOT? IS ANY OF IT ROOTED IN LOVE? COULD YOUR ANGER MAKE YOU BETTER OR MORE AWAKENED? MORE COMMITTED TO HEALING OR JUSTICE? IS GOD SPEAKING TO YOU THROUGH YOUR ANGER AND INVITING YOU TO RESPOND?

This week in our Lenten series, we considered the pain we experience in betrayal - when people who should have been safe for us turned out to be the ones who hurt us. Psalm 55, Luke 23, Luke 17.
