The Danger of a Detour (2025)
16/02/2025 Duración: 01h07minPastor Robert Rohlin is passionate about his responsibilities as a father and grandfather. He has 8 children and 21+ grandchildren at the time of this sermon. In this sermon, he uncovers a mathematical difference about the age of a patriarch between Old and New Testament accounts and how it reveals to us that we can lose our spiritual legacy when we fail to obey God or take a detour from His revealed will. It is critical in this era that fathers take seriously their responsibility to lead their families to follow the Lord without detour or compromise.

Are the dead raised?
31/03/2024 Duración: 01h26minPastor Robert Rohlin on Resurrection Sunday reminds us of 4 key proofs that the resurrection of Christ is real. And that is important, because the resurrection is the key focal point of the Gospel. It is the reason we worship Christ in church, the reason we have hope of eternal life, and the only reason for spending time focused on our relationship with Jesus. This sermon concludes with the powerful story of Edith "Easter" Burns -- a godly woman from San Antonio TX who is now in the presence of Christ. Don't miss this heartwarming story that concludes this message..

Now that You're Chosen, Stand Firm!
10/12/2023 Duración: 01h20minPaul really loves the Tessalonians. So, with fatherly concern, he encourages them repeatedly to hold on to the truth and stand firm. One of the problems today though is that so few church members are skilled at identifying truth. They get deluded by religions that incorporate human tradition and trust that equally or even more than the Word of God. But only the written revelation of Scripture can be our inerrant, infallible, inspired, and imperative rule of faith and practices. Cults and groups that believe human tradition continues to add to revelation (like Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy) lead to dangerous conclusions on a foundation of shifting sand. Only the Word of God is the bedrock on which we should base our lives. Pastor Robert Rohlin takes a careful look at what Paul means when he encourages the Thessalonian Christians to stand firm in the traditions that they were taught. It clearly is a reference to apostolic teaching before the written Word was available. But he cautions them against the "tradit

Salvation: A Mutual Choice
03/12/2023 Duración: 59minOne of the most often-argued theological concepts is the role of God's election and man's free will in determining who will go to heaven. Some people go to one extreme of claiming that man's free will has no role and that if God choosed you to be saved, you will be saved. Another group claims it is all about the free will of man and that God's calling has nothing to do with it. However, the fact is that Scripture teaches both the choice or election of God and the free will of man have a part in salvation. Pastor Robert Rohlin explains how marriage reflects this mutual choice where God chooses us but we must also choose Jesus Christ. This sermon is not a comprehensive treatment of these issues, because Pastor Robert Rohlin confines the focus to this passage in 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17. First Baptist Church Las Colinas is a family-integrated missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Baptist Missionary Association.

A Model Mother
14/05/2023 Duración: 39minThis Mother's Day sermon is a bit unique. Yes, we start with Scripture, but the main points were taken from the life of a godly mother whom I called "Miss Margie." As I thought about Mother's Day, it encouraged me to remember her life and the example that she set.

The Voice
06/02/2022 Duración: 50minWhen Israel was wondering whether God would destroy them or save them, God answers by sending comfort to His people. What does God do that gives us comfort? 15-Made Any Plans Lately?
30/01/2022 Duración: 52minSomeone once said, "Man proposes, but God disposes." Another has said, "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." We make lots of plans, and most of them fail. One of the reasons is that our plans fail to include God's perspective. So how do we plan as Christians? After all, to fail to plan is to plan to fail. We have to keep God as part of the decision-making process. Pastor Robert Rohlin discusses this important concept as he continues our study of the book of James. Pastor Robert Rohlin is the teaching pastor at First Baptist Church Las Colinas, a family-integrated church in the Baptist Missionary Association. This church focuses on expository preaching to equip fathers to build strong families.

Look and LIve
02/01/2022 Duración: 49minEternal life is not achieved by getting sacraments from a church. It is not about doing more good works than bad works. It requires accepting the only payment for our sins. It requires a singular focus on Christ to save you. Pastor Dale Thornton explains in simple fashion these truths and ends with a testimony by a prominent pastor of his own salvation experience.

Christmas: So much that you know isn't so, part 2
19/12/2021 Duración: 01h02minSo much of what Christians "know" about Christmas is not from the Bible. We've allowed a lot of assumptions and myths to creep into our Christmas understanding. The realy Christmas story is far more miraculous than the one portrayed in church plays and in nativity movies. This is a 2nd of 2 messages.

The Problem with Complaining
21/11/2021 Duración: 01h56sPastor Robert Rohlin on the Sunday before Thanksgiving preaches a somewhat-unorthodox sermon on Thanksgiving. He focuses in on the meaning in Numbers 11:1 where God judges the sin of complaining. There are a lot of words for that sin: murmuring, whining, griping, belly-aching, being a sore-head. Basically complaining is a sin for 3 reasons which Pastor Rohlin explains. Complaining prevents Thanksgiving. In the next sermon, he covers reasons for which we should thank God. But in this sermon, it turns out that perhaps we are all guilty of complaining from time to time. But do you know just how seriously God reacts to this sin? Prayerfully listen to determine if this is an attitude / action that you need to eliminate from your life.

Are you the right spouse?
31/10/2021 Duración: 56minIt is somewhat odd that a sermon on marriage should be preached on October 31 -- the day that shares 2 important connotations. The world celebrates Halloween which in its most innocent form has children wearing masks and begging for candy. But in marriage, we often wear masks to either manipulate a spouse or to fool those outside the marriage into thinking everything is OK when our spouse knows better. And we tend to want to be "treat-ed" in just a certain way and in our self-centeredness, we focus our actions and words on getting that treatment. October 31 is also known as Reformation Day by many Christians to celebrate Martin Luther's nailing of his 95 points of disagreement with Catholic theology. Many historians point to this act as the start of the Protestant Reformation. And if anything needs a reformation today, it is our society's sit-com idea of marriage and how that viewe is now pervasive even among God's people. In this message, Pastor Rohlin discusses what it means to be the right spouse for your
