We all know so well, John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that He Gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.' Two things always stand out to me when I read that passage, when God loves He loves a world, and when He gives, He gives his Son. How great is the summation of our Heavenly Father's boundless love for you, me and all? Yet, in today’s world, love has become such ‘a passive and a progressive’ word. Still God’s perspective of love has never changed. You and I may say to our child, ‘How much do you love me?’ Their answer may be extremely simple, ‘a kiss and a hug’. But if you put the same question to our God, His answer is, The Cross! But let’s go a step further… though we can glimpse the sufferings of Christ in the Garden and on Calvary; can we even begin to grasp the measure of the sorrow sensed by the Father in Heaven in that last hour? For our salvation there was joy, but the anguish, sorrow, suffering and pain the Father must have felt

Over the past few weeks, we’ve looked at the fact that ‘we are destined to win!’ And we’ve spoken much of His desire towards those that are His children and love Him. In all my years as a Christian, some of the greatest comfort I’ve known is that the one I love and who loves me, is committed to always being there. Knowing this has enabled me to trust God, no matter where I’ve been or currently reside… that He is able to get me where I need to be. Developing this TRUST, causes obedience no matter where I am. Come, be part of this encouraging message that takes us through the Psalms, understanding how He loves us, seeing what He desires for us, and knowing that He is able, committed to keeping us in His hands.

One of the greatest tragedies of our time is that people who have made mistakes are so afraid of failing again, so much so that they give up. Whether it’s a career change, a failed marriage, a life decision or whatever. Because of this I find our world is strewn with the wreckage of half-finished resolutions, unexecuted plans and unrealized dreams. Maybe this is you. You’ve tried and tried; yet you feel you can’t try again. What will it take? Overcoming life’s obstacles is something we really cannot do outside of Christ. We can patch up things, but we cannot repair things. Scripture declares our portion in life is to have a victorious life. Ephesians 3:20 says that God is working in us and has made us more than conquerors! So, we can be assured that whether it be life or the necessities of life, greater happiness is to be ours, a life that is more abundant; in comparison to what was lost, forfeited by sin because Jesus gives and is that abundance. It is the abundance of grace (provision), peace (confidence),

Why should we fear what man can do? What is impossible for man, is possible with God! Remember, He Won! We Win!!! Scriptures declare that Abraham, ‘against hope… believed hope!’ I believe that if we’ll just be determined to know what we do know, and do what we do, do well… then all of the rest has a tendency to come together. We do our best, He Does the Rest! It’s called ‘Faith!’ The scriptures clearly say in Jeremiah 29:11, ‘for I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Join us as we continue our series and learn that through Christ, ‘We Are Destined to Win!’

We have heard and understood how the 'Belt of Truth', the 'Breastplate of Righteousness' and the 'Shoes of Preparation' are imperative to the victory of the Christian. Finally, as scripture says, 'Above All' take up the 'Shield of Faith.' We now live in a world to a large degree, where no one wants to accept responsibility. Blame for ‘what once was’ has now become the excuse for ‘what now is’. So, in this we now have what I call a societal impasse… we’ve all been placed into the same category as computers, ‘our behavior is the fault of the programmer. If we were programmed wrong, we’ll behave wrong.’ And of course, as with the computer ‘It must be the programmers fault and not that of choice.’ It is what I call the ‘I CAN’T HELP MYSELF’ defense for offense. Homosexuals’ say, “I was born this way.” Alcoholism is now called ‘hereditary’ in some cases. ‘Child molesters need be understood not punished.’ ‘Murderers are just maladjusted people in society.’ Well, in many years of being a pastor, I have made a pastoral discovery… ‘Most become what they’ve decided to become, not what birth, life or circumstance caused them to become.’ Don’t get me wrong; I understand some need real therapy, counseling… Join us as over the next few weeks delve into this

I have a question for you, ‘Why does God make such a fuss when dishing out His goodness and mercy?’ The answer is relatively simple: ‘because it is His name that is maligned when we fail to live according to it’. The sad reality of most people, Christians included; at times we know evil more intimately than we know goodness and that’s not a good thing either. Can you agree, are there not times that I want to get even, to be made even, my debts paid; whatever it may takes! I still, even with that attitude, want no blemish, no reason to feel guilt or fear, we want to stand in the sight of God, just and right and clean. When we’re this way, we know it. And when we’re not, we know that, too. It is all inside of us, each of us. We know who we are. I am grateful that ‘God is Working Out, What He is Working In.’ Join us as we conclude our series on the ‘Grace and Goodness of God.’ And see how God is working out in your life, the life you are allowing Him to work in.

God’s Goodness and Grace are what Build Us into the man or woman that God has called us to be. And God is still working on you and I… Know this, the tomb couldn’t bury Jesus then; your current situation can’t bury you now! No matter where you are or where you’ve been… God’s Grace and Goodness can and will get where you are going!!! Know this! When He died, so did our sin. When He arose, so did our hope. When He arose, your grave was changed from a final residence to temporary housing and after two millennia Herod was and is still right, ‘there is only room for One King! Join us as we continue our series on ‘God’s Grace and Goodness’ and see how that it is God’s grace and goodness that is working in enabling us to do all things as Christ gives us strength. Remember what Jesus said in Mark 9:23, ‘As far as possibilities go, everything is possible for the person who believes.’

Scripture is very clear, at salvation we belong to God! We are not our own; we are bought with a price and the price paid was high… His very life! Yet the Father believed it was a price well paid. He loved lost mankind so much, that the price of the life of His Only Son was not too much to pay. It did not stop there. He said all those that would place their trust in Him, no one would be able to snatch them out of His hands and that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to Him until the day of His return. And then finally, in His Goodness… He enables us to live the life He has called us to live through the strength He gives to each of us.
