    17/04/2022 Duración: 47min

What good is having an accurate range finder on the golf course if you don’t know how far you hit each of your clubs? The answer is “no good”. In fact, it’s a waste. Whether you are using GPS or Lazer it doesn’t matter if you’re exactly 157 from the pin if you don’t know specifically what to hit to get 157. Jeff Smith explains exactly how to figure out the distance of all the clubs in your bag as only a Top 100 Golf Instructor can on this edition of Those Weekend Golf Guys

    10/04/2022 Duración: 48min

It’s Masters Week. You watch the best golfers in the world playing and you can do nothing but admire their form, their abilities, the way they can manage great scores on a tough course in tough conditions. You study their form and think if you could just look like they do, then you could score like they do. WRONG! Can you imagine if we showed a still pic of Ted Williams as he made contact with a ball, or Michael Jordan as he hung in midair with his jump shot that that would be the right form to emulate? No. Jeff explains some of the elements in the pictures you have seen repeatedly have really screwed up your golf game. Another information packed fun, funny and entertaining episode of Those Weekend Golf Guys. The Second Best Golf Show IN The World!

  • S2 Ep163: Don't Nobody Have Time For That

    06/03/2022 Duración: 49min

Don’t nobody have time for that! Not good English but an important element to take to heart. The downswing happens, from start to contact, in about a quarter of a second. That is not enough time to realize your alignment may be off, or the swing path not right or any problem. Not enough time to notice a problem and definitely not enough time to fix any problem. That is why the pre-shot routine is so important. It is the one thing that helps you swing without making mistakes, swing and make proper contact and swing to hit the best possible shot. Jeff describes in this episode of Those Weekend Golf Guys Podcast what makes the perfect pre-shot routine and explains how to make it happen the same way every time. And that is important! Also, today is the last day to vote in the Sports Podcast Awards. Please go to sportspodcastawards.com and look for category 9, Golf Podcasts and vote for us. Thanks.

We don’t know what we don’t know. You can’t fix your mistakes until you know what mistakes you are making. Jeff explains the most usual mistakes we amateurs make and what causes those bad shots. So, now you can finally fix the damn things. Another fun, funny, entertaining and oh so educational edition of Those Weekend Golf Guys

  • S2 Ep161: Want To Improve? Don't Keep Score

    20/02/2022 Duración: 48min

Want to get better this year? No, really. Is this the year you are going to break whatever your number is? Here’s how: FORGET ABOUT THE NUMBER! During your rounds this season, don’t keep score. Instead keep track of the quality of your shots. Write down all your terrible shots, bad shots, OK shots, good shots, and great shots. Use the number of high quality shots to judge your game. Jeff explains exactly how to do this and why it will work wonders if you’re trying to improve your game. Want to enjoy yourself? Listen to this episode. Want to improve quickly? Listen to this episode and take some notes! Enjoy.

  • S2 Ep156: Should You Get Fit Before Lessons?

    19/01/2022 Duración: 46min

Should you get fitted for clubs before you start a series of lessons? It’s like which came first, the chicken or the egg type of thing. If you are using clubs that do not fit you, a teacher like Jeff could still improve your game but it might seem uncomfortable for you to produce some of the swings, grips, stances, etc. that would be necessary. If the clubs are fit to you, then everything would seem to be more easily ;earned like the stance, grip, etc. So, the question is: should you be fit before you take lessons. Abd the answer is (as it always is) That Depends! This is the same presentation Jeff is scheduled to make at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show next week in Orlando.

Barney Adams, formerly of Adams Golf, has developed it and describes it and talks about golf in general. And finally, Jeff Smith suggests giving Lessons as a gift.
