  • Jesus is My Contentment

    19/11/2017 Duración: 40min

Part 1 – SERIES: More Than Enough We have a number needs we need met as human beings. The great news of the Gospel is that Jesus is More Than Enough to meet them all! We begin with our need for contentment. Paul gives 3 keys to finding biblical contentment in Philippians 4:10-13. 1) Get your eyes off yourself. 2) Get your eyes off your circumstances. 3) Get your eyes on Jesus! We also looked at John 6 where Jesus reminds us that the stuff of this earth perishes, but he satisfies completely.

  • Living in Light of God's Grace

    05/11/2017 Duración: 42min

Pastor Kirk Barger adds a supplemental message to the Five Solas series this week from Titus 2:11-14. Now that we've studied God's grace, how do we live in light of it? Pastor Kirk looks at 4 aspects of living in light of God's grace in Titus 2 — The appearance of God's grace, the teaching of God's grace, the hope of God's grace, and the work of God's grace.

  • Soli Deo Gloria (to God Alone be the Glory)

    29/10/2017 Duración: 37min

Part 5 – SERIES: Five Solas Soli Deo Gloria affirms that all was accomplished by God’s grace and for God’s glory. The end game of Sola Christus, Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, and Sola Fide is God’s Glory. This is the culmination of all the other solas.

  • Sola Fide (Faith Alone)

    22/10/2017 Duración: 41min

Part 4 – SERIES: Five Solas Sola Fide affirms that the gift of salvation and the benefits for being in God’s eternal family come through personal faith in Christ as savior, not by any personal good works, the merits of a human mediator, religious ceremonies, or institutional efforts.

  • Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)

    15/10/2017 Duración: 43min

Part 3 – SERIES: Five Solas Sola Gratia affirms that salvation is by God's grace alone. It is the free and unmerited gift of God to a sinful human world and is received solely by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. No human effort is sufficient to earn any portion of God’s favor for salvation. It is solely, completely, and exclusively a gift of God—wholly unable to be earned.

  • Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)

    08/10/2017 Duración: 50min

Part 2 – SERIES: Five Solas Sola Scriptura affirms that the Scriptures, not the institutional church, are the primary authority by which humanity must live and against which truth and error must be judged. “Where stands it written?” was a common response of the Free Church toward teaching and instruction that was based on traditions of men rather than Scripture. 2 Peter 1:16-21 is a clear passage on the authority and nature of Scripture. We should pay attention to God’s Word, it’s not from man, but breathed out by God himself! We must believe it in all that it teaches, obey it in all it requires, and trust it in all that it promises!

  • Sola Christus (Christ Alone)

    01/10/2017 Duración: 35min

Part 1 – SERIES: Five Solas As we remember the 500th Anniversary this month of Martin Luther's 95 Theses that sparked the Reformation, we're studying the "Five Solas". The Five Solas are a summary of some of the key orthodox doctrines that were reaffirmed and returned to during the Reformation. This week we look at Sola Christus (Christ Alone). Sola Christus affirms that our salvation is secured by the work of Jesus Christ alone on the cross. There is nothing that can be added to it. And there is salvation in no one else. Jesus Christ is the lone mediator between God and mankind. Righteousness is a gift needed by all sinners and received by faith in Jesus.

  • Return from Exile, Wait for Jesus

    24/09/2017 Duración: 42min

Part 4 – SERIES: Old School This week we wrap up our four-part summary of the Old Testament storyline. We start be diving deeper into why and how the people were exiled (as well as a rabbit trail showing the historical accuracy of Scripture) before briefly looking at their return and the wait for a savior. Ultimately all of the Old Testament is pointing toward the coming of Jesus Christ as God's answer to Adam and Eve's sin in Genesis 3:15.

  • Wandering, Promised Land, Exile

    17/09/2017 Duración: 48min

Part 3 – SERIES: Old School We begin this week with Israel in the wilderness, wandering because of their sin at Kadesh. After 40 years of wandering, a generation dies in the desert, and a new generation gets their opportunity to enter the land that had been promised to Abraham. This new generation finally trusts the Lord, and he blesses them! However, it's not long before another generation sins and the cycle of the Judges begins. After about 400 years Israel demands a king (ignoring the fact that God was their king), and he gives them Saul, then David, then Solomon. Due to Solomon's sin the kingdom is divided in two and eventually ends up in exile. For the second week in a row, we pause the story at a place where God's people find themselves outside of the Promised Land due to their sin (both in attitude and deed).

  • Enroute to the Promised Land

    10/09/2017 Duración: 50min

Part 2 – SERIES: Old School We're going to Old Testament School and learning the primary storyline of the Old Testament. In our second part of the storyline we see that Israel has multiplied greatly after 400 years in Egypt. A new king (Pharaoh) is now in power and he oppresses God's people greatly. They cry out to God and he raises up Moses to deliver them in a miraculous way and take to them to the land promised to their ancestor, Abraham. On the way God gives them instructions at Mount Sinai for how to live in the land once they arrive. Just before they were to enter the land, however, the people of Israel disobeyed God and refused to trust him and follow him in faith. Because of their sin, that entire generation would wander and die in the wilderness, rather than receive the blessing God wanted to give them.

  • The Beginning, The Mess, and The Plan

    03/09/2017 Duración: 46min

Part 1 – SERIES: Old School We're going to Old Testament School and learning the primary story line of the Old Testament. It begins with God and him creating everything good. But in Genesis 3 Adam and Eve sin and create an enduring mess. Thankfully, before he even addresses their sin, God promises a fix (a Savior) in Genesis 3:15. The rest of the Old Testament is all about tracing God's Plan to fix Adam and Eve's (and our) sin.

We believe the best way to make sure you're ready for "need-to-know" and "need-to-grow" moments are by getting connected to a 1:10 Group.

  • Gather

    13/08/2017 Duración: 48min

Part 1 – SERIES: Gather, Grow, Go! At Wawasee Bible we ask 3 things of each person who calls Wawasee their church home. 1) Gather with us regularly on Sunday mornings and in a 1:10 Group. 2) Don't just show up, grow up. • Called to Contend

    06/08/2017 Duración: 50min

Part 3 – SERIES: Jude - Contend Jude continues his letter to the believers by completing the profile of an Apostate. He even draws in specific traits from the Apostles’ experience. Jude then challenges the believers to walk worthy of their calling by employing 4 commands to encourage them. He concludes his letter with the hope of salvation through one of the most beautiful benedictions in Scripture.

  • True Colors Revealed

    30/07/2017 Duración: 01h08min

Part 2 – SERIES: Jude - Contend Not everyone is always as they seem. However, to recognize a counterfeit, one must know the original well. Jude continues his exhortation to “contend for the faith” by addressing the true colors of apostates. He makes a note to himself about past and present apostasy, as well as the coming judgment of these apostates.

  • Focusing Our Fight

    23/07/2017 Duración: 01h04min

Part 1 – SERIES: Jude - Contend Pastor Dan and Pastor Kirk begin a short series through the book of Jude this week and contending for our faith. Faithfully contending for the faith demands a godly perspective. This requires us to focus on our true position. We are called, loved, and kept by God. We must also focus on true faith. We contend for the doctrine of God, the authority of Scripture, and the truth of the Gospel. Finally we must focus on our true enemy. Our true enemy is not the world nor those who doubt.

  • You Need Community

    16/07/2017 Duración: 47min

Part 13 – SERIES: James - Faith In Motion We wrap up the book of James this week. Pastor Josh gives a review of the entire letter, then unpacks the closing two verses. James is very concerned that we live out our faith, that we put it in motion. In the closing verses he turns our attention toward helping each other in the church live out their faith and be faithful to Jesus. When someone in the church wanders from the truth, others must go after them to bring them back and save them from death.

  • When You're Suffering...

    09/07/2017 Duración: 49min

Part 12 – SERIES: James - Faith In Motion In chapter 5 verse 7, James shifts gears into a more pastoral tone and gives some instruction on how to handle suffering. Christians are not immune from suffering, rather we can expect it due to our faith. But no suffering is without a purpose as God can sovereignly use all of it to make us more like Jesus Christ. So when you are suffering be patient, remain steadfast, trust the Lord, and pray!

  • Your Wealth & Your Heart

    02/07/2017 Duración: 53min

Part 11 – SERIES: James - Faith In Motion While we tend to only think of two categories of people was it relates to wealth (rich and poor), the Bible actually speaks of four: 1) Godly Poor, 2) Godly Rich, 3) Ungodly Poor, 4) Ungodly Rich. God doesn’t care about your net worth, but he does care about how you get it and what you do with it. As Randy Alcorn says, “You can’t take your wealth with you when you die, but you can send it on ahead.” God isn’t against you having riches, he’s against you misusing them. James addresses people who are misusing them in 3 ways: hoarding them, cheating others, and living in self-indulgence. The key to honoring God with your wealth is to keep Jesus at the center of everything in your life.
