Issa & Nita Breibish’s Moto Journey: Getting From A to D
04/02/2016 Duración: 01h43minIssa & Nita Breibish’s Moto Journey: Getting From A to D As so often happens in life, we get caught up in what society expects us to do. Get a good education, get a good job, buy a house, have the right furniture, clothes, gadgets… and so on. We are expected to live our life in the “normal” way. In the western culture, if you don’t have the big house and fancy cars, and everything that goes along with it, including debt and stress, well… you just aren’t living. We think we need or want those things, that they will make us happy. But, as many studies have shown, life experience makes you happier than acquiring material things. Even those experiences which may be uncomfortable to us in the moment, make us feel more fulfilled. We may turn them in to funny stories or see them as a valuable learning experience. And stories, more than material things, are what connect us to other people. Because who doesn’t love a good story?Issa and Nita Breibish felt that something was missing in their life, and the more they

Jeffrey Polnaja - The Impossible Journey; Motorcycle Shipping by Land or Sea
21/01/2016 Duración: 01h22minJeffrey Polnaja - First Indonesian Motorcyclist to Ride the WorldBefore Jeffrey started his around the world trip back in 2006, he heard the word “impossible” over and over again. Jeffrey comes from a country where solo world travel isn’t readily embraced by their culture, and travel is more often done in groups. The Indonesian Rupiah currency is very low in value compared to the US dollar. And people told him with the time needed, the distance he would cover, cultural differences and the natural challenges, that it was a far fetched idea and that it was an unattainable dream. A solo motorcycle trip around the world seemed absurd to many people in Indonesia, but Jeffrey had other plans. And the more people told him it was futile, the more determined he became. He slowly gained support through some friends and was sponsored by an adventure gear company for some camping and riding gear. But, after five years of planning and trying to get the financial support he needed to make his journey, he made the decision t

Electric Motorcycles Neck Braces and ARR RAW Announcement
15/01/2016 Duración: 55minMost people ride motorcycles for pleasure, and many as a means or preferred means of transportation. And we are quite used to our gas powered engine, with lots of torque, tanks that hold enough fuel to travel long distances and easy refuelling stations. Hey, it’s a tradition and who doesn’t love to hear the power in their engine? In the last few years though, motorcycle manufacturers have been introducing electric motorcycles. And while it is still a very new thing to us diehard bikers, electric motorcycles are starting to gain a toehold in this competitive industry. Till recently, it’s been the smaller manufacturers that have been leading this possible upcoming trend of quiet moto transport, but the major manufacturers are starting to come on board. When comparing performance of gas power to electric powered motorcycle, a few key points stand out. While traditional gas powered motorcycles are averaging 200 miles on a tank, electric powered motorcycles are only reaching just about half of that amount. But they

Michelle Hope - The Motorcycle Gypsy
17/12/2015 Duración: 59minMichelle Hope - The Motorcycle Gypsy Perhaps her name says it all, but when you hear Michelle Hope speak, it really instills in us the possibilities of throwing caution to the wind and choosing to live life to the fullest. That may be different for everyone, but for Michelle who had done the 9-5 job and raised her kids, it meant living like a gypsy, living on the road on a motorcycle. When Michelle met a motorcycle traveller, Scooter Tramp Scotty, who had been living off his bike for over a decade, she was inspired by his way of life, and she made the decision to buy a bike and learn to ride. Since 2006 she has been living off her bike, only stopping for two years to go to school, and since February 2015 she has been making a ‘viable drifter income’ doing spiritual healing massage work on the road. She travels with her companion, Two-Lane, who is a little hairy but very loving. And has moved on to her second bike, bought for her by a complete stranger, someone she has never met before and has never met again

Have Dog Will Travel - Mallory Paige
03/12/2015 Duración: 01h06minHave Dog, Will Travel - Mallory Paige, Baylor and Rufio star in Operation Moto Dog Many people in this world have a dream to travel, but we aren’t living our dreams because of fear. Fear of not knowing enough, not having enough money or not having the right equipment. Fear of what our friends or family might think, fear of being alone. The biggest hurdle is getting past all that, and making up your mind to just do it. Mallory Paige didn’t have a motorcycle, she didn’t even know how to ride one! She didn’t have any moto travel experience, or even any camping experience. Many people say it doesn’t take any courage to travel, but it does take determination. And that drive is what it took for Mallory to make the impossible, possible. Sturgis to Ushuaia Via Labrador - Michelle Lamphere
27/11/2015 Duración: 43minFrom the beginning of time people have set out on journeys of discovery and adventure in search of new lands, riches, food and sometimes I imagine, just for the sake of discovery with no idea or concept of an outcome. Perhaps with just the resolve that it WILL bring change and that change will mean good things to come. All great things, large and small have be borne of journey’s mated with discovery of one kind or another. And it’s in hindsight that the journeys are seen as “good causes” - rarely in the moment. Most journeys have not only changed the lives of those whom experienced the journey first hand, but others as well. Sometimes through the discovery itself, new lands foods or ideas and other times just through connection and information and the telling of the story. The cynical observer may describe a motorcycle journey as a narcissistic hoarding of time and resources for lofty intangible ideas that benefit of now one. Yet when we hear these journeys that others have taken it fuels our imagination, ju

Motorcycle & Gear Security For Travel
12/11/2015 Duración: 01h31minOn October 28, 2015, the National Insurance Crime Bureau released a report on United States motorbike thefts. In 2014, there was a total of 42,856 thefts reported, compared to 45,367 in 2013, a decrease of six percent. Great news, especially as motorcycle sales increased by four percent in the same period. The top 5 motorcycle stolen (by manufacturer): 1. Honda 2. Yamaha 3. Suzuki 4. Kawasaki 5. Harley Davidson Most motorcycle thefts occurred in August (4965) and the fewest were in February (1978) indicating a weather influenced pattern, which remains consistent with previous years. With the cost of many motorcycle models now being $20,000 US or more, they have become a valuable target for thieves. The stolen bikes are either sold whole, stripped down for parts resale or reconstructed in to another motorcycle. Many parts, including frames, can be easily altered and reused. As such, there is a low recovery rate for stolen motorcycles, approximately 25-30 percent. Wanting some great answers on bike sec

Africa Motorcycle Diaries - Spencer Conway
29/10/2015 Duración: 01h25minAfrica Motorcycle Diaries - Spencer Conway In November, 2009, Spencer Conway left for a 9 month journey around Africa on his Yamaha XT660. His journey was documented by Diesel Films in partnership with the Discovery Channel. Although he was followed around by the film company for parts of the trip, they were not allowed to offer any assistance as the trip was to be completely solo and without a support team. The plan was to complete the tour and raise money for Save the Children UK for it’s projects in Africa. He experienced a great deal on this trip, being shot at by armed bandits, stoned by angry villagers and being robbed. Much has come of the adventure including a book that he is in the process of writing and a six episode programme on UK and Europe TV this November on the Travel Channel. Cultural Speed Bumps
24/09/2015 Duración: 01h01minIn Pakistan, women’s mobility in public is a major social issue. There are socially sanctioned rules which indicate how a woman may sit as a passenger on a motorcycle. But, Zenith Irfan, a 20 year old female student in Pakistan, has become a heroin to women who want to have the independence and choice to ride a motorcycle. Zenith says that there is a social taboo for women motorcycle riders in Pakistan, but one of her goals is to stop the gender stereotyping and encourage Pakistani women to follow their dreams. Inspired by her father’s unrealized dream to travel the world by motorcycle, and encouraged by her liberal mother, Zenith travelled the treacherous terrain of the Pak-occupied Kashmir belt in northern Pakistan on a solo motorcycle adventure for one week. She is an icon for women riders around the world, crossing barriers and making the choice to… just ride no matter what.
