In the darkest moments of human history, it is the gospel message of Jesus Christ, in the hands of the church that stands tall in the face of adversity. It has been a difficult couple of months; then a shocking murder and destructive riots. Someone said the Church is non-essential?

The Bible is more than just a book. More than just a collection of writings to teach the "do's" and "don'ts" of life. More then Just a history book. More than an archeological book. It's a book about a great God who loves people and sent His son Jesus to rescue us from sin, our Selfishness, and Satan. It's a book that unveils to me His character and causes me to live for His glory. And, It has a lot to say about me.

As 2020 approaches, we can't know for sure what God has in store for us, how He's Going to sue us, what we may even have to suffer. All we can do is prepare ourselves the best we know how. How does the spiritual discipline of fasting factor into our preparation for the new year?

What Do you feel when you say something is wonderful? Usually there are good vibes and a smile. In the Bible, one of the names given to Jesus by Isaiah is "Wonderful." Today we'll unpack the significance of this name in the context of Isaiah 9:6. "For unto us a child is born: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Might God, Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Names meant something in biblical times. The name given to a child would many times be a prophetic hope spoken over a baby. This was literally true when one of God's prophets, Isaiah, predicted the birth of a special child hundreds of years before it took place. He called Him "Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace."
