As this rag-tag group of disciples called the church sets out to continue the work of Jesus on the earth by actually being his continued presence in the world, it does not take long to realize that the call to live Jesus’ life is also a call, for some, to give their lives as He did.  This is sobering and quite hard to grasp - but life as ones who are “called out” by Christ means that we hold every aspect of our lives with open hands in obedience - even our lives, themselves.  Greg Musselman delivers a thought provoking message CALLED OUT To Give Up Everything.

In many ways the book of Acts is the story of the clash of two Kingdoms.  People were expecting Jesus to establish an earthly kingdom by earthly standards, however his was a heavenly kingdom “not by might nor by power”.  Jesus radically redefines what power looks like, and the book of Acts tells the story of his followers discovering that power and clashing with the religious, political and business powers of the day.  We too are called to stand up and stand out as members of a different Kingdom.  Pastor Matt explores what it means to be a follower of Jesus in the context of the religious, political and business powers of 2015 by examining what it meant for the followers of Jesus in the book of Acts.

As the church of Jesus Christ we are to be agents of his healing and Restoration. All of us are wounded and need healing in our lives in one way or another. Our healing comes through Jesus himself and in his grace he chooses, in part, to minister that healing through the church. Pastor Lisa speaks on the exciting truth that the church is Called Out - To Heal.

It's impossible to read the book of Acts without being confronted by the game changing reality of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence.  This newly formed community of Jesus' Apprentices sees the power of God in action as the Holy Spirit empowers them.  Pastor Lisa shares how the Holy Spirit is God's gift to empower the church today.

The book of Acts begins by Luke indicating that his gospel was his account of all that Jesus began  to do and teach.  His assumption is that the book of Acts is an account of what Jesus continued to do and teach through his followers.  Pastor Matt walks us through the question of what it meant for Jesus to continue to act and teach through his followers in Acts, and what it means for him to continue to act and teach through his followers in St. Albert Alliance Church and the Christian church more broadly today.

The book of Acts gets off to a fast start with signs and wonders and people coming to Jesus by the thousands… but not without first learning to wait on God, and then making prayer a continual priority. The power of God evidenced in the Book of Acts cannot be properly understood apart from the deep and growing prayer life of the early Church.  Pastor Jeremy continues our series with CALLED OUT - To Pray.

Pastor Jeremy begins a new series, CALLED OUT - a journey through the book of ACTS.  As we trace the early years of the Christian church through various snapshots in the book of Acts, we want to learn from both their successes and failures, to explore what it means to be "called out" today.

Pastor Matt speak about how much in our world is instant... we want instant noodles, instant printing, instant messaging and instant answers to our prayers. God answers all prayer, but a need for "instant" means that we can avoid the kinds of prayer that really changes the world, and changes us.  God invites us to Think Long when it comes to prayer.

Pastor Jeremy teach us about, perhaps one of the greatest limiters to the effectiveness of our prayers is our lack of persistence.  We tend to have a 'one and done' approach to prayer instead of committing to circle the promises of God consistently.  The persistent widow in Luke 18 models for us the kind of tenacity in prayer that God is eager to respond to.

Pastor Nathan will be continuing our teaching series on Bold Prayer.  Small-scale prayers will never be sufficient to illicit boldness in our prayer life.  What keeps us from making big (and, at times, seemingly impossible) requests of God?
