Jeff Nusser of CougCenter.com joins the podcast to give us a preview of what this Washington State team will be as it travels to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowboys. The big notes are that the Cougars have a new quarterback in East Carolina transfer Gardner Minshew is likely the starter this weekend. The wide receiver group will be deep but may not have a stud who will haul in over 70 receptions but should be a group that has a bunch of guys catching between 40-50 passes. The biggest issue on the defensive side for Washington State is the defensive line that not only lost production from a year ago but also is very thin in returning talent. This could be an area where Wyoming has some success on offense and cause a headache for the Cougars. This latest mini-episode features Crowley Sullivan who covers Michigan State over at Spartans Wire and he joins Jeremy Mauss to preview the Utah State game vs. the Spartans on Friday night. The Spartans bring back nearly every player on both sides of the ball and over 90 percent total production. The defense could be the best in the country and the offense looks to be balanced in the run and pass game. However, the suggestion that Utah State will just be blown out is not entirely the case. Michigan State has struggled in openers and in the early part of games, plus the Aggies should be a pretty good team this year and at least be a pest toward the Spartans in this opening game. Colorado State takes on Colorado this week in Denver, so we bring on Mike Singer who covers Colorado football at CU Sports Nation, part of Rivals and Yahoo.  The main topics are what to expect from Colorado's offense which replaces quite a few starters and is replacing its offensive coordinator, but the expectations are that the offense will give the Rams trouble with starting QB Steven Montez returning. The defense was deep last year and even though they lose a few starters it should be as good, if not better. The Colorado defense will need to be up for the challenge as the Colorado State offense put up a lot of yards against Hawaii.
