The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship opened on December 25th and continued on through the weekend. The LA Kings defeated the New York Rangers on June 13th, 2014 to win the Stanley Cup for the second time in franchise history. The game was the fifth game in the 2014 STANLEY CUP Final and was, at the time, the longest game in franchise history.

Seth Rorabaugh, of the Tribune-Review in Pittsburgh, joins host Jesse Cohen to discuss the newly acquired Olli Määttä. The Finnish defenseman spent the 2019-20 season in a Blackhawks uniform but was drafted in the 1st round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the PIttsburgh Penguins. The 6'2 blueline helped the Penguins win the Stanley Cup in back to back season before being traded to Chicago in June of 2019. The LA Kings have three picks in the 2nd round and two picks each in the 3rd and 4th round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In the past two drafts, the Kings have selected four players from Sweden (Bjornfot, Fagemo, Lee, Sodergran) and two players from Finland (Kupari, Nousiainen). With 11 picks in the upcoming draft it stands to reason the Kings might add more players from the two hockey powerhouses to their prospect ranks.
