Dan's work has been absolutely nuts lately and he's been putting in 10 to 14-hour days throughout the week. Taylor was out with a corneal abrasion, so Dan and Ryan talked about the fact that the nonagenarian former pontiff of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI, was recently caught in a lie about his attendance at a meeting to discuss child abuse allegations. He previously told investigators he didn't attend the meeting (presumably because he didn't want to admit he personally knew about sexual abuse allegations and then didn't do much of anything about them), but the investigative team has documents that show he was there. David Archuleta is an American pop singer, a former contestant for Star Search and American Idol, and is a current member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon church). You may have recently heard the phrase "Let’s go, Brandon." It is a new right-wing shibboleth that stems from an October NASCAR race at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Driver Brandon Brown won the race and was being interviewed by an NBC reporter. The crowd behind Brandon was chanting something that was initially difficult to understand, so the reporter suggested they were chanting "Let's go, Brandon" to cheer on Mr. Brown. It later became clear that the crowd was chanting "Fuck Joe Biden," and the phrase has since been taken up as a childish way for conservatives to say a naughty swear without actually saying a naughty swear.
