The book of Ephesians is actually a letter; a letter the apostle Paul wrote to a brand new church in the ancient city of Ephesus. In this letter, Paul fleshes out the mysterious plan of God which lies at the very center of the Universe. This plan is full of joy, energy and grace and it is ALL God’s doing. This plan is about how God is going to redeem the world that has been broken by sin. After spending the first 3 chapters making every effort to explain this cosmic plan that is beyond words, Paul moves to laying the groundwork for how our knowledge of this plan should impact the way we, as God’s people, are to live. We no longer live in the darkness of our thinking or as followers of the desires of our flesh or our own selfishness. Instead, we are new people in Christ, And we are empowered to live in new ways - ways that are worthy of the invitation God has given us to join him in his plan to restore and renew all things under Christ’s good and perfect reign. Learning to honor and handle emotions in our families is important work and can be an opportunity for spiritual transformation.But there is almost no other situation in which emotions tend to run so high. How does God want us to navigate our emotional lives in our families? How do we navigate really hard feelings? What kind of wisdom can we glean from the Bible? We look forward to kicking off the new year with this much-needed teaching series. God wants our families to thrive and we believe this series can help!

In the Incarnation, God, in his perfection and glory, moved toward broken humanity in all of our mess and suffering in order to save us. Our response is learned hopefulness This is grace in its purest form. We did nothing, and still do nothing, to deserve it. This God-initiated movement toward us happened (and still happens today) out of the pure goodness of God’s heart toward his wayward children; his lost world. Because God has moved toward us in love, we then, though we are weak, are to move toward others in their pain and suffering. God goes with us as we move. All we have to offer is his love, and it is more than enough. This is who God is. This is who we, as God’s children, are called to be.
