The work of Christmas is nothing short of miraculous for all of humankind. It is something that only God can do.

The church at Laodicea could be seen as the prototype of the majority of local congregations in the US in the 21st century who are 'rich in the world' but poor 'in the kingdom.' This type of church don't measure up, can't stand up, and seemingly won't straighten up.

The Church at Philadelphia is a church which "I" would like to be a member of. Jesus offers observation, commendation, affirmation, but no condemnation!

The Church at Sardis had become arrogant about their status -thus, had become apathetic and complacent. This is a warning for the church today.

The Church at Thyatira thinks they are doing well, but are literally 'busted' by the Lord - to call them back to repentance.

The church which compromises 'bargains' with the world about their doctrine. Pergamos seems to have 'married' the world.

The Church at Smyrna was a church under pressure, in poverty, and living with perversion - yet, she received no condemnation of the Lord

The Church at Ephesus had much going for her & only one thing against her. But this one thing was THE THING...we cannot do enough good to overcome our lack of love for Jesus.

Verses 19 and 20 of Chapter 1 give us a clear outline for us to understand the entire book.

James tells us that the "TONGUE" is the most revealing & powerful member of the church.

The message given from our "God" is given to all people, both saved & unsaved. Hear with your heart the message which God gives.

Too many neglect the "REVELATION" from teaching & preaching - basically, 'shutting our eyes' to eschatology. This message begins a series to help us see the future in perspective.

If the church in America is to make a difference in this culture, there must be a return to some fundamentals found in the church in Jerusalem. This message offers 4 needs.

On this Memorial Day, let us never forget what our Civil Freedom cost - and let us never forget what our spiritual freedom cost & what it means.
