Have you heard the story of Jeff Bezos and Amazon and how they underpriced diapers? He asked how much diapers are and then cut the price in half. They made money playing the long game. It's a common grocery store strategy, like how they put the low-priced milk at the back of the store. There are times when it's okay to break even or even lose money to acquire a customer.

A lot of people avoid confrontation. They just let it build up. Stay curious and be willing to ask the tough questions. If you care about someone, you need to try to hear and understand them. 

People say I'm incredibly impatient. Leaders have a bias toward action. But I've learned you can be overzealous and see too far too fast and outpace the speed of relationship. Recently I let other people take the lead. There is a term called "the speed of trust." You may want to slow down at times to give other people time to weigh in, help shape the vision and become part owner. I'd love to hear what you think.

The truth hurts, but it can also set you free. Truth is actually double-sided. We have to invite the acute pain that truth brings to open us up to avoid the chronic pain. We've always struggled growing grass in our backyard. There were several trees here that would block all the sun. Now the grass is the best it's ever looked. The best way to get into an optimal flow is to have experiences that stretch you but don't snap you. When you stretch yourself, you're producing eustress, which is good stress. There's a bird's nest outside my daughter's window with four eggs in it. We get to watch a miracle right outside the window. There are miracles outside our windows if we have the eyes of faith to see. How does one person see a miracle wherever they go but another person doesn't see any miracles no matter where they look. If you're not seeing miracles in your life, you're not looking. Stop thinking that the miracle needs to happen to you. You may be the miracle that happens to someone else.
