  • Wait, What: The Prologue to Episode 10

    25/08/2010 Duración: 19min

This is our prologue to Episode 10, and by "prologue," we mean, "stuff Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talked about for almost twenty minutes before Skype crashed." In it, we discuss the weather, RSS code, Itunes, and Jeff unsuccessfully tries to stalk a fan of the podcast. It's a terrifying peek behind the curtain and utterly unrelated to the topic of comic books. But a couple of cheap jokes made us decide it might be fun to include. If you want to skip it, we totally understand and we're listing installments 1 and 2 of Episode 10 as something separate. If you do stick around we hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening!

  • Wait, What: Episode 9.2

    16/08/2010 Duración: 01h14min

In the second and last installment of Episode Nine, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester reflect at length on the possible turning point that was San Diego Comic Con 2010. If you hang around long enough, at the every end we also throw in Dr. Who, The Venture Brothers, the Return of Bruce Wayne #4, the artists of Grant Morrison, and what to make of the upcoming movie Sucker Punch. But, for better or worse, it's mostly San Diego Comic-Con 2010 on our minds. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening!

  • Wait, What: Episode 9.1

    15/08/2010 Duración: 51min

In the first of two installments for Episode Nine, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester briefly touch on all the great things the Pacific Northwest has to offer: Brian Bendis and the first issue of Scarlet; Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; Mudhoney; and, of course, the Green River Killer. Then, we touch on the first trade paperback of Dark Avengers, Daredevil and the current Shadowland story arc, the first three issues of Secret Avengers, Spider-Man and One Moment In Time, and Paul Cornell and Action Comics Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy the podcast!

  • Wait, What: Episode 8.4

    06/06/2010 Duración: 01h42min

In the conclusion of Episode Eight, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester discuss ten years of Smallville and what that might say about Superman, The Return of Bruce Wayne, Sparta USA, Wildstorm's A God Somewhere, The Rise of Arsenal #3, violent comics from Marvel and DC, online critics, the conclusion of Lost, and we check in with Graeme's strange X-Men Forever obsession.

  • Wait, What: Episode 8.3

    05/06/2010 Duración: 24min

In our third installment of Episode Eight, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester return to discuss actual comic books-- including Hellboy in Mexico and the first few issues of Brightest Day.

  • Wait, What: Episode 8.2

    04/06/2010 Duración: 53min

In Episode Eight's second installment, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester veer sharply away from comics and discuss Glee, Chuck and spend a ridiculous amount of time on the penultimate episodes of Lost as they try to figure out how the whole thing will wrap up. If you like podcasts where you can listen and sadly shake your head from the vantage point of the future while people fumble around blind, this is the podcast installment for you.

  • Wait, What: Episode 8.1

    03/06/2010 Duración: 50min

In this first installment for Episode Eight, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester discuss DC's Wednesday Comics hardcover, Howard Chaykin's Black Kiss, Brandon Graham's King City, and of course....Little Archie.

  • Wait, What: Episode 7.2

    03/05/2010 Duración: 01h16min

In the second of Episode Seven's two installments, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester discuss Darwyn Cooke and The Man With The Getaway Face, Joe Kubert's Dong Xoai Vietnam 1965, and the old school stylings of Frank Robbins, Don Heck, Eclipso and Dr. Who. Also, we apologize for minor technical difficulties--either we were too awesome for our recording software, or there's a problem with the latest version of Audacity, but there's some vocal distortion we were unable to correct in mixing.

  • Wait, What: Episode 7.1

    02/05/2010 Duración: 01h06min

In the first of Episode Seven's two installments, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester discuss the limits of our podcasting abilities (or inabilities, actually ) as well as the unexpected marital complications of Free Comic Book Day. We also cover Kirby's Fourth World as interpreted by Grant Morrison and Walt Simonson, and works by Kate Beaton, Dash Shaw, Chris Ware, and upcoming projects from Alan Moore.

  • Wait, What: Episode 6.3

    14/04/2010 Duración: 43min

Welcome to the third installment of Episode Six, where Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester discuss Batman and Robin, Joe the Barbarian, Daytripper, Flash Rebirth, and the penultimate issue of Blackest Night, among others.

  • Wait, What: Episode 6.2

    13/04/2010 Duración: 40min

In Episode Six's second installment, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester continue to talk about Brian Bendis, Jeff offers a new metaphor for the state of the comic industry's largest companies, neither Graeme nor Jeff can think of the word 'debfibrillator,' and we talk a lot about a handful of movies, including Bubble, An Education, and District 9.

  • Wait, What: Episode 6.1

    12/04/2010 Duración: 35min

In the first installment for Episode Six, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talk about Crisis on Infinite Earths, Siege and the careers of two Brians, Azzarello and Bendis.

  • Wait, What: Episode 5.4: The Britpop Bonus Round

    12/10/2009 Duración: 23min

In Episode Five's Bonus Round: Graeme McMillan is kind enough to try and educate Jeff Lester about Britpop while I try not to bust a lung. No comics were harmed in the making of this podcast--or mentioned, for that matter--so we're including this strictly as a bonus for those of you who might enjoy this sort of thing. Thanks for listening!

  • Wait, What: Episode 5.3

    11/10/2009 Duración: 35min

In the third installment of Episode Five: Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talk about 20th Century Boys, Oishinbo, and Dazzler: the Movie: The Graphic Novel. And there's a musical interlude. And a contest! And a pony! Except there's not really a pony. Thanks for listening!

  • Giant-Sized Wait, What #1

    10/10/2009 Duración: 01h33min

In this special giant-sized edition, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester rush to talk about Disney's potential purchase of Marvel before the topic gets all talked out. Rather than break this up, we made this one giant-sized 90-plus minute podcast, heavy on the speculative policy wonk. If it sounds like the sort of thing you'd rather skip, then you should probably skip it. But if you've got a lot of time to kill, and want to kill it with rampant idle speculation and the word Pixar thrown about like rice at wedding, then Tigger you've hit the jackpot!

  • Wait, What: Episode 5.2

    10/10/2009 Duración: 44min

In Episode Five's second installment: Disney bought Marvel, Warner stepped in at DC to bring in more oversight, and the government instituted a program for blogging disclosure that baffled everyone--but this installment of Wait, What? is still shockingly listenable: Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talk about are DMZ, Local, and the writing career of Brian Wood, comics in PDF format, Peter and Max: A Fable Novel; and a winding analysis of Dave Cockrum's return to Uncanny X-Men. We hope you have a listen, and we hope you still remember those far-off days of early September when people could talk about review copies without spending twenty minutes worrying about whether they might have their house seized. Thanks for listening!

  • Wait, What: Episode 5.1

    10/09/2009 Duración: 32min

In this first installment of Episode Five, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talk about Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1, continuity expectations, Blackest Night #2 and its crossovers, John Byrne's Millennium crossover and the challenges of making difficult characters charming. It's the first of several podcasts recorded right before Disney announced it was buying Marvel, so you are either saved from hearing speculation or cursed to listen to irrelevant chitchat, depending on how you see it. Either way, thanks for listening!

  • Wait, What: Episode 4.4

    16/08/2009 Duración: 53min

In this final installment of our fourth episode, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester are the comics podcast of Michael Meyers from Halloween-- just when you think they're dead, they get up and start talking again. In this installment, we talk about Chris Claremont, Mark Millar, Tyrese Gibson's Mayhem, Captain America Reborn #2, Aquaman, and, of course, the trending topic on every fanboy's lips--Julie and Julia. The whole thing runs close to an hour, and has a little meta patch around the thirty minute point, so forewarned is four-armed.

  • Wait, What: Episode 4.3

    15/08/2009 Duración: 38min

In our third installment of Episode Four, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester talk about our reactions to Blackest Night, Legion of Three Worlds, the career of Geoff Johns, Amazing Spider-Man, and then back to Geoff Johns a little more.

  • Wait, What: Episode 4.2

    12/08/2009 Duración: 30min

In Episode Four's second installment, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester answer questions from the 'mailbag'--by which we mean our comments section--including whether to keep or dispose of comics, what keeps us picking up a title, and Crying Superheroes: Threat Or Menace? Again, our thanks to everyone who provided feedback and suggested topics, and we hope you enjoy the podcast! Thanks for listening!
