Our series is Jesus Is. Each week we look at a different way that we look at Jesus. The message for today is “Jesus is a Prophet” and is a look at Transfiguration Sunday. What is a prophet? What is the importance of our works? How are works a sign of faith? What are the works that we are called to do? Can we separate works from faith? Our series is Matters of Faith. In it, we will be exploring many facets of our faith . The first message is “Born Again” and looks at what it really means to have a new life in Christ. Is it more than a catch phrase? How do we live a new life in Christ? How do we make it a life style and not just a statement? As we explore our faith, we grow in trust and love for God. Our series is Means of Grace. In it, we will be exploring spiritual practices that help us grow in discipleship. The last of these is “Worship Together” and looks at how community helps us to grow closer to God. Why should we gather together? What counts as worship? What does it really mean to be together? In what way does it help us grow? As we explore how we interact with God, we grow in faith and love. Our series is Means of Grace. In it, we will be exploring spiritual practices that help us grow in discipleship. The next to last of these is “The Poor and Hungry” and looks at how our charity and generosity is an act of faith. Why should we help others? How do we help those in need? How do we act out our faith to ensure it isn't empty? Can we make it a regular part of our lives? As we explore how we interact with God, we grow in faith and love. Our scripture reading for today comes from Isaiah 25:1-5, James 2:14-17, Matthew 25:31-46.
