In chapters 1-4, we gained and understanding of how to right with God - the Gospel. In chapter 5, Paul wants to help us come to place of certainty that once we accept Jesus as Lord, we would know beyond a shadow of doubt Heaven is for real and our place there is 100% guaranteed.

In chapter 4, Paul uses Abraham to show that God does not require works for salvation. Our righteousness is imputed to us by our faith in Christ just as Abraham was credited with righteousness for his faith in God. But, while our belief is what saves us, our behavior - what we do, our "works" - is the outpouring of the faith we have.

We are all in the same position (all sinners), and we all fall short of the glory of God. But we can all have the answer.

Judging other people is dangerous because it lulls us into a false sense of security, blinds us to our own faults, and usurps God's role as judge.

As we celebrate Memorial Day weekend, our youth group, Prodigy, took over the service, so it was fitting that Pastor Ibrahim gave our sermon today on unfailing love from the book of Hosea.

Proverbs 18:21a says "The tongue has the power of life and death..." What we say has the ability to bring out the Better-Half or the Not-So-Better-Half of those with whom we have relationships.

We've been looking at who we believe God is, His Identity, and based on what we know and believe about God...what impact that has on us. How does our relationship, or lack of relationship, with God impact and shape our identity?

Things may not go as we expect, but our identity is not found in our experiences, but in who we belong to.
