James says if we are going to fill ourselves up with something, if we are going to occupy ourselves with something, it might as well be the right things. What are the right things?

Jesus taught, "Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45). Our study of James builds on this idea, teaching that the tongue cannot be tamed, even though it is like the rudder of a ship that can steer us and "makes great boasts" that we must try to live up to. It's easy for us to blame others with our words - to use our words as weapons to defeat the enemies we've created in our minds. But James challenges us to do things differently

James makes us consider... My brothers and sisters, do you with your acts of favoritism really believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ?

Join us as we begin our journey today in the Book of James 1:17-27 as Doers of the Word with a topic we all need help on, Avoiding Anger.

As we finish the second half of Ephesians focusing on the HOW now we are really gearing up for life, literally, with the armor of God. Really this is the gear we have been “gearing up for life” throughout all of Ephesians. So, what are these tools and how do we employ them in our daily lives?
