Genesis 5 gives us the genealogy of the ages from Adam to Noah. The wirter highlights the impact of sin with the phrase, "and then he died." Genesis 6:1-8 furnishes us with the story of man's continuing depravity and not just a slide, but a full-blown jump into wickedness and sin. Sin has consequenses in our lives. In Genesis 3:8-24 we see the relationship that Adam and Eve had with God severed by sin. As often happens in sin, blame is cast on anyone other than the sinner. The consequences of sin are revealed. Hope is promised to the sinner.
