Acts 3:1-5:16

It’s easy to blame the things happening around you as excuses for passivity with God. And yet, if we’re honest there are things within us that we hold against the work of God in us. This internal brokenness is in need of the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We never outgrow our need for Jesus.

Every heart that follows God will face resistance. If you let the resistance win the result is discouragement, fear, distraction and despair. God calls us to fight the resistance and live courageously on mission for Him.Passages: Ezra 2:1-2, 64-70; Ezra 3:1-13; 4:1-24; 5:2-17; 6:1-22

The heart of your relationship with God is your heart. That’s the message of Ezra as exiles left their culture in Babylon to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. God was calling people back to the ruins to find redemption and restoration. God is working to rebuild your heart towards him. Life is a gift of joy and delight from God. It’s His design to find worth and satisfaction in our labor and in the use of our spiritual gifts serving others. The biblical perspective on fun is far more about building others up than amassing toys for personal pleasure. Your life will be richer and more joyful as you make an intentional plan with others in this area of fun.

Your body is telling a story about you. People around you are able to see if you are taking care of yourself, and whether or not you value rest, nutrition and activity. These three components of physical health can be pursued by anyone. It is a choice that has lasting impact not only for you but for the work God has called you to.

Most of us are stuck in some area when it comes to handling money. The average household in the US is spending 104%-109% of their income. This is an area that is out of control. But God has a different plan for you, a plan for you to honor Him, save for future generations, meet needs around you and use your resources for enjoyment. It is possible with a plan. This message shares how to move from obligation to opportunity with the resources God has entrusted to us.

The choice before you when it comes to your family relationships is this:will you choose to be a blessing in the lives of people in your family? This choice is not dependent on how others in your family respond. There is a godly vision and purpose for you to pursue even if others go passive. This is the way to get unstuck...to accept responsibility for what you can and to apply the biblical instructions for yourself in your family.
