My summer vacation. As of the time of this recording I’m packing up and preparing to leave tomorrow for my week in Florida. Memory 101, it’s like the new Millenium. I guess technically this would be 100 memories, since Memory 001 only told a background and didn’t share anything. But then there’s the 12 or so Christmas Specials I have released, so really this would be like 112 memories... carry the one... Never mind. We’ll just call it 101. And it’s a great show that I’ve been waiting for someone to request for a while. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has shown Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, for decades now. Yep, I’ve been thinking about Memory 100 for a little while now and Paul and Magic Joe from Window to the Magic have given me an idea of what I’ll do. If you haven’t heard, the scuttlebutt on the internet is that they have recently destroyed various SpectroMagic parade floats, taking away any opportunity for the return of this parade in the future. This saddens me greatly as I loved this nighttime parade, possibly even more than the Main Street Electrical Parade. To me, the music is better, and I loved the little guys with the white faces. I can’t believe it’s July already. By the time this comes out, we will have celebrated our Independence Day here in the United States, and are now looking at upcoming summer vacations. Me, I’m not traveling again, not till the unofficial end of summer in September, but that’s fine with me. I’ve had 3 road trips over the last 4 weekends and I’m content to have a nice quiet weekend at home with the family right now. In September though, we’re planning our annual pilgrimage to Florida to spend time with our family and go to the beach in Clearwater. And if you’re in Florida, why would you not also go to Walt Disney World right? That’s right, we’re going to try to get over to Orlando for a day (maybe 2) and have some fun with the kids. A very good friend of mine just lost his battle with Cancer, the requirements of my new job are taking their toll on me, and a summer trip seems so far away. So I’ve got some good news. We’ve started planning a Disney trip. And this is one that I have no experience with, so we’re enlisting some help from MouseFanTravel to help us plan a Disney Cruise. Yep, that’s right, we’re looking at taking a cruise. My dad is having a milestone birthday so the whole family is interested doing a cruise together. We’re looking at next January at this point, so plans are starting to come together and I for one can’t wait. We started watching some of the videos online and the kids got very excited to “go there”, but they had no concept of what we were talking about. It will be so much fun. I’m looking forward to seeing their faces as we enjoy this together, kind of like how I’m looking forward to seeing their faces on the attraction from today’s memory. It’s that time of year again. Pitchers and Catchers are reporting to spring training, and this morning I’ve got my Orioles mug filled with coffee here beside me with hopes this year of getting past the Yankees this time and taking the pennant. Baseball to me is one of those wonderful escapes from the hectic pace of a regular day, where time slows down and you can relax and enjoy the sunshine and warmth for a few hours. But we all know another place that allows us to slow down and enjoy some sunshine and warmth right? Walt Disney World definitely comes to mind. But when you can’t be there, we are left with just our memories, but those can be very powerful to.
