The 1986 film Stand by Me is less of a blockbuster more of a classic, and in so many ways. A breakout cast with names that today are instantly recognisable, this is a coming-of-age film directed by Rob Reiner but it is based on Stephen King's 1982 novella The Body Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'Connell are the four boys who head off to search for a Body. This film features some of the most impressive visual effects in cinema history, to the point it had to be filmed only when the technology required was available. Aussie Sam Worthington has the lead in this clash between the Mining Giant and the local population. It's one of Stephen's favourites but this is the first time Trev's watched it.
