The simple truth is that we don't fear God as Scripture tells us, therefore we don't truly know and experience His character, we don't trust His Word, and therefore don't share the Gospel with the lost.

There is a perspective on life that God wants His children to adopt. It’s a perspective that focuses on eternity rather than the immediacy of our lives right now. It’s a view of life that sees beyond our current circumstance, to the peace and love that we’re going to experience with Jesus forever.

Holiness is also a deeply personal reality. God applies His holiness to you, the individual, in unique ways according to your circumstance and situation, so Paul gives us handholds for what it looks like to live the Gospel as God's people in practical holiness.
