Rather than just produce a straight "concert film", the band approached Lance about building a full narrative script around the live concert footage.The story follows a team of scientists as they investigate the source of a paranormal anomaly appearing around the world. It blends live concert footage from MUSE's 2019 Simulation Tour (in which they travelled to over 28 countries) with scripted narrative videos that carry the story throughout a 90-minute show.In the interview, we discuss how the film was produced in late 2019/early 2020 but took on a scary new relevance once the global pandemic struck. On this episode, I'm chatting with Goran Backman, VFX Supervisor for Pixomondo on superb Star Wars series 'The Mandalorian'.As you'd expect with a show like 'The Mandalorian', there we a lot of visual effects sequences split between various VFX companies. One of the areas Pixomondo specialised in for the series was the creature creation. This led to the company developing some innovative techniques to produce various alien animals, most notably the Blurrgs, which Mando has to learn to tame and ride. They also produced versions of the classic Dewbacks, along with the "flying beast" Reptavian, the tiny Gorvin Snu lizard, and the Qartuum... otherwise known as the "space goat"!Outside of the various creatures, Pixomondo worked on the Pit Droids, various environment such as Mos Eisley, the Jawa camp, Arvala, lava fields and even got a chance to play with the Mandalorian's ship, The Razor Crest.'The Mandalorian' has been nominated for 15 Emmys and already pi

On this episode, I'm chatting composer Matthew Janszen.Matthew began performing piano at the age of 5, but, as is somewhat appropriate for us, he is a bit of geek, and has always been fascinated with the correlation between math and music. This led him to a degree in Acoustical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana, before receiving a scholarship to the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles and later the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship to study with composer Mike Post. He also studied at the ASCAP Film and TV Workshop with Richard Bellis and was awarded the Harold Arlen Film and TV Award.Since 2007, Matthew has worked on a string of movies and tv shows for people such as Lifetime, SYFY and Hallmark, working in both animation and live-action.
