One of the areas Pixomondo specialised in for the series was the creature creation. This led to the company developing some innovative techniques to produce various alien animals, most notably the Blurrgs, which Mando has to learn to tame and ride. This led him to a degree in Acoustical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana, before receiving a scholarship to the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles and later the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship to study with composer Mike Post. He also studied at the ASCAP Film and TV Workshop with Richard Bellis and was awarded the Harold Arlen Film and TV Award.Since 2007, Matthew has worked on a string of movies and tv shows for people such as Lifetime, SYFY and Hallmark, working in both animation and live-action.
