04/05/2022 Duración: 07minJohn MacKenzie chats with Shane Knuth, KAP State Member for Hill, about the bizarre case of innocent cows being shot by the state government's department of environment after the cattle become lost in national parks. The government is accused of not giving enough notice to graziers who need to muster and save their cattle, and instead, rangers are shooting branded and unbranded cows from helicopters, sometimes leaving them to die. Some wet season conditions don't allow access to a national park, yet the cattle are shot anyway. In a world where animals are protected from unnecessary harm or death, it seems strange to spend so much effort and funding to shoot a cow over saving it.
