#166 Kentucky Hunters For The Hungry Supply Fresh Deer Meat To Hungry Families 1/12/19
14/01/2019 Duración: 47minIn 1988 the Kentucky deer herds had grown beyond carrying capacity in some areas and biologists were encouraging additional doe harvest. This led to discussions between a few avid hunters who wanted to oblige wildlife management but had concerns about what to do with extra venison that they didn't have room to store or would exceed what their small families could consume. Sharing nature's bounty with those less fortunate seemed a natural choice and after a bit of research they discovered that donating meat to the needy was the answer. That fall Hunters for the Hungry was born as hunters joined with processors and food banks to supply donated meat to the needy. (From the website: www.kyhuntersforthehungry.info ) On this week’s show, Kurt and Chad welcome Ky Hunters for the Hungry President Roger Lapointe about how KHftH has helped to serve millions of meals for Kentuckians. 13/12/2018 Duración: 48minCru·ci·ble - a situation of severe trial, in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new. Not exactly an inviting “situation” that a man would want to experience. But can a severe trial make something new inside of a man when he chooses to enter the trial? On this week’s show, Kurt and Chad welcome 3 men who went through (not “to”) a men’s retreat called The Crucible Project. This ministry grew out of the longings a handful of pastors and lay leaders to push beyond the limits that characterize men’s relationships in the church. The retreats are like a ‘boot camp for the soul.’” www.thecrucibleproject.org
